Welcome to WEEK ONE of the #foodforthought Summer Food & Body Image Challenge!
The challenge - if you choose to accept it, is to GET REAL about where you are at with food and body. To not just INJEST (I'm gonna use a lot of food puns - deal with it) the information but actually assess if you are getting it - absorbing it, digesting it, applying it to yourself...
So here ya go - your first, bite-sized, task:
Grab a journal (or the notes app on your phone) and jot down your thoughts about the following:
What are your beliefs about food:
Do you feel excited to eat?
Positive about eating? Flexible? Or do you worry?
Are you fearful of what food will do in your body?
Are you completely unaware and uninterested in caring about food?
When do you last remember having an easeful, peaceful relationship with food?
What did it feel like?
When did things change?
When did food become a challenge and how did your beliefs around food change at this time.
Not sure what your relationship with food is like?
Try grabbing some food, putting it on a plate, sitting down and eating it! Monitor the thoughts that come up before, during and after your eat.
Before next week - get clear on where your relationship with food is NOW and how you want your relationship with food to LOOK and FEEL, moving forward.
