Welcome to WEEK SIX of the
Summer Food & Body Image Challenge!
You know what’s interesting? We, as humans, often set out on a journey with a goal in mind. A thing we hope to achieve. We think that when we achieve that goal, we’ll feel the way we want to feel - that the new job, the better car, more money, the partner, the “perfect body” will fill a hole and make us WHOLE.
Unfortunately, as I (and many of the women I’ve worked with) have experienced - weight loss, while temporarily satisfying doesn’t actually solve any problems, nor does it cure bad body image …and even more interestingly, many of the things we hope a better body will afford us (more fun! Social lives! Belonging! Freedom!) actually get sacrificed as we work toward these “perfect” bodies.
So the question is - are you clear on your goal and is it a GOOD GOAL?
